Retail worker ridiculed for wearing personal jacket at work, he gets even by following the employee handbook: 'My jacket isn’t corporate approved? Neither are any of the other ones here!'

This woman's boyfriend proved to his manager that he needed to pick and choose his battles a lot better.

Management always runs into this issue regardless of the industry. On the one hand, they need to ensure that the work is getting done and that all employees are receiving the support they need to fulfills their tasks and responsibilities. However, on the other hand, far too many managers fall into the trap of feeling the need to assert their authority time and time again, particularly regarding rules and regulations that don't really matter. 

People in authority can easily lose sight of their priorities, and it's actually in the best interest of the company or business to prioritize the needs of one's employees, within reason, above all else.

In this instance, this author relayed the story of how her boyfriend proved to his manager that he was obsessing over the wrong things. The manager gave the boyfriend stern warning after catching him wearing a personal jacket in the break room because it was too cold in there for him. Talk about a waste of a tense work moment!
